Having type II diabetes also affects other parts of your body from functioning correctly. There is a long list of other things that can go wrong within the body when you are suffering from type II diabetes. Type II diabetes can destroy the kidneys ability to filter out waste. This greatly increases your exposure to danger from having too many toxins in the body. Type II diabetes can also cause complications with your eyes and even blindness is possible. It can affect your skin and causes complications with your complexion as well.
Type II diabetes has also been known to bring on bouts of depression and affect other parts of the central nervous system. Nerve damage is very common. What is called neuropathy (damage to the nerves) can cause damage to your spinal cord, muscles, skin, blood vessels, and various other organs in your body. The overall health of your nervous system is essential to your life, so it’s very important to do what you can to reverse or prevent these affects. Diabetic neuropathy requires close attention and monitoring by professionals.
There are some things you can do on your own to help as well, though. Although the exact cause of type II diabetes is still unknown, there are two main contributing factors that you can pay close attention to in order to reduce or eliminate risks of developing type II diabetes and also easing your living with type II diabetes. These two things are weight management and physical activity.
